Local Treasures - Rochester Public Market

While many Rochestarians are Public Market veterans, I’m always surprised at the amount of people who have lived here for years and have never been. If you’re not familiar, the Rochester Public Market is truly a treasure.  It’s open Saturdays from 5am to 3pm year round.  You can get fresh, local produce, meat, cheese, baked goods, and much more.  And the best part is, you can save money doing it.    More...

Should You Fill Out Consumer Product Surveys?

Today I opened my mailbox to find an official looking envelope containing the “Official Consumer Product Survey of America.”  For a few minutes of my time, it promises me “valuable money saving coupons” and “free samples” – not just “meager cents-off coupons” based on my responses to the survey.  About every six months or so I get one of these and wonder whether it’s really worth it to fill them out.  Are they just harvesting my information to send me unwanted advertisements or will I really get some value out of it?   More...

Get Organized & Save Money -- Recipe Management Software

Here's the best deals for school/office supplies that I found this week:    More...

For some strange reason, I have all three of the major drugstores within a 3 mile radius (I suspect that many of you in the Rochester area do too.) So in an effort to save gas when I shop them, I tend to hit them all in one trip picking up just the very best deals.

What’s on Sale at Tops this Week?

Looks like this week is a good week to stock up on meat.  Don’t forget to freeze what you won’t be using this week -- it's not a good deal if your meat goes bad.  (If you need freezer bags, they’re on sale too!)   More...
